We are very aware of the current situation that we are living in. We feel it is our duty to play our part in helping to make the world a better place. Since our inception, we have always kept in mind that we needed to create a project that could return some of the resources it received. We decided to place our bet on the present and the future, creating a sustainable company and helping the most disadvantaged children. We are currently embarking on two wonderful projects. Flamingo X Save The Children aims to help change the reality of underprivileged children around the world. And our Non Plastic Mission, aims to reduce plastic consumption and CO2 emissions.
Flamingo X Save the Children
Flamingo X Save the Children involves a pair of charity sunglasses that will create revenue for Save The Children so they can acquire more resources. For each pair of sunglasses sold, 50% of the proceeds will go to the Save the Children organisation. All the money received will be distributed to actions that will help break the cycle of poverty and build a better future. Part of the funds raised will go to serve children living in poverty in Spain, providing educational care, leisure activities and psychosocial support. Another part will go towards the campaign to fight against the forced marriages of girls in Sierra Leone.
Non Plastic Mission
Since 1 January 2019, we have begun to apply our sustainable policy Non Plastic Mission, eliminating 85% of plastic from our products. By 2020, we hope to achieve the 100% elimination of plastic. What measures have we taken? We have completely redesigned the Expressive collection. All the products that make up this collection are made with recycled PET material (rPET), thus reducing the consumption of plastic and CO. For each pair of glasses made with RPET, we remove 3 water bottles from oceans and beaches. For the rest of our products contained in our packaging and protective covers, we have replaced the plastic with a biodegradable material created from potato starch. Although this is already a very important step, we know that Non Plastic Mission still has much more to contribute.
